Bring back hierarchy view on the page level "item list"/left rail menu
The previous view showed the pages in their hierarchical order, this current view is not useful to my organization with the way we use Gather Content for website/CMS page writing. Some of our sites are over 500 pages and some pages are similarly named, this makes it more difficult to find what were looking for and when adding that approved content into the CMS. Please add a filter view to bring back the hierarchy here.
Add multiple items at once
This used to be in the legacy version of GatherContent. I want this back!
Include comments in exports
We would like to be able to include all unresolved comments and the discussions in an export to PDF or Word Doc, and all project exports. Use case - when clients are distributing revisions internally, they do not always want someone to have access to Gather Content.
Increase formatting options
Ability to indent content, add classes to things like tables, created more complex html lists with the ability to choose the number style of nested list
Allow a user to apply templates to items, but not edit templates
At the moment, there is only one permission 'edit item structures and manage templates'. If this is ON, users can apply and edit templates, but if it's OFF they can do none. I want my team to be able to apply templates, but not haver the power to edit them.
Add an Undo option. Helpful when you accidentally delete copy, delete a comment, resolve a comment, etc.
Support for more advanced structures and reusable components
Our current templates and field types are pretty basic, and so we plan to add some functionality to make them a lot more flexible. This should make it really easy to create more flexible content structures, and also save some time when you have the same kinds of structure used on multiple items in your project. The idea is to make it possible to create custom components out of a group of fields (or even a single field), and then have these accessible in a component library so they can be quickly added to items on the fly. This means you could have a component that's used inside templates and custom structures, and which can be easily updated from a single place. Which should save a bunch of time! We're also keen to make it possible to say that a component should be repeatable on an item. This should be useful for things like galleries, or lists of things, where you're not sure how many you need from the outset. Finally, we're also keen to review our field types themselves, and look into more specific field types to support more structured content. Also just improving the validation on fields, so you could say a field is required, or has to include a certain format of content. This is in the very early stages of planning, so please let us know your thoughts.
Bring back a way to see the hierarchy and all the pages at a glance
Previously (this applies to website build out projects), you could see the entire site map at a glance, whereas now you can’t. Sub-folders and pages are hidden and easy to miss. I see there is an ability to “View Content Map,” but again, it’s not something you see immediately (and the hierarchy of pages is not correct – or clickable - once you get there). If you guys could bring back an option that shows all the pages and hierarchy at a glance in one frame, I think it would be much easier to navigate.
It would be nice to prioritize comments on the page. Some comment threads may be more urgent than others, and it can be hard to figure out which comments to prioritize when you have multiple pages and subpages to manage.
Global Templates (Across Projects)
We should have the ability to use 'global templates' which can be applied across all projects. At the moment, we can import but the templates are specific to each project. It would be nice to be able to choose if you want to globally update them or change them in one specific project.
