We’ve been working on creating some new API endpoints and today we’re ready to share them with you: behold the GatherContent API v2 http://docs.gathercontent.com/
The main benefits include:
- Query items using multiple filters and with sorting and pagination
- Manage the hierarchy of a project, creating, moving, and managing folders
- Create reusable templates using a simpler JSON structure
- Create and update items, for all content field types - text, option and files
There’s still more features to be added this year so if you have any specific use cases not currently covered or any API feedback in general please let us know.
Thanks

Thanks for all the feedback here everyone.
We've been discussing a release of a new API for a while now, and will definitely be making some new functionality available in the coming month. We plan to release a totally new API in 2019 which will have dedicated functionality for content delivery. We will also be exposing more powerful webhooks and project management endpoints we have available on our internal API.
Let us know if you'd like to learn more, and we'll keep you updated on our progress here 🙌

API support for WordPress 5.0 and Gutenberg

I'm really surprised that I have to make this feature request. I sync the posts my team creates in Gather Content with WordPress and rely on this feature of your product quite heavily for production and publishing efficiencies. Your API should work with WP 5.0 and Gutenberg. It's my understanding that it does not at this time. I'm not interesting in using the classic editor. I hope this feature request is highly prioritized. Thank you.

Hi Leon,
It sounds like you may be using the newest version of GatherContent.
Creating items via our API is not supported in the newest version I'm afraid. But we do plan to introduce this later on in 2019.
I'll gladly let you know once creating items is available via our API.
I hope that helps. Let me know if I can help with anything else.
Thanks,
Kay
