Bumping this up - I'd really love some cleaner print styles.

This is now something we'll be considering over the next couple of months

+1 for formatted printouts. Great for proofreading. I currently use a Chrome screenshot plug-in to create PDFs, then print.

Megan Lane: what plugin are you using?
Megan Lane
Garrett Henderson: FireShot extension. (I probably misused the word "plug-in" in first comment.)

Hi Alisha Newton-Rudhru, thanks for the feature request here - it sounds pretty intriguing! How would you see a print feature working?
Alisha Newton-Rudhru
Angus Edwardson: It'd be great to have a one-click print function. The text would appear as formatted in the fields, field names would appear as labels in small print, and any attached media would be a list at the end.
Angus Edwardson
Alisha Newton-Rudhru: Ah, yeah that makes a lot of sense.
I guess if we had PDF export / print from an item, that would help? Have you used the PDF export from the content tab? Where you select a single item and choose to export as PDF?
Have you used that Megan Lane?
Megan Lane
Angus Edwardson: I have tried it and found it wanting. The text is all in the same SUPER MASSIVE font, and bold to further make it shouty.
To give you an idea, I did comparison PDFs on one of our pages in GC:
- GC export function = 9-page PDF all in the same shouty font
- Chrome screenshotter = 3-page PDF with H2s, H3s, body text, etc (obviously, as it's a picture of the page)

Megan Lane: I totally agree with you here, it's really not ideal in terms of formatting for print at the moment!
I've changed the subject of this request to be around making a better formatted solution for the PDF export, and we'll definitely take a look at the Chrome screenshotter for inspiration. Thanks for sharing that.
I can't say when we'll get to this, but I've created it as a feature to be reviewed next week. Does this sound like it would be a good solution for the print capabilities for now?
Megan Lane
Angus Edwardson: It does, thanks. I'll keep using the Chrome plug-in in the meantime.
