As the admin of my company's GC platform, it was very helpful for me to be able to manage the first & last names of each user so I could monitor when internal or external users need to be removed as a user or add project to users.
Now, I'm reliant on them filling in those fields. It's a basic permission function a platform Admin would have & exists on endless other platforms. Please consider adding this back.

Hello. The solution outlined in my previous update has now been implemented.
Inviting people from People & Groups now includes optional name fields.
Thank you for your input! If you encounter any issues, please reach out to our support team who will be happy to help.

Hi everyone. In an effort to streamline the invitation process of team members, we took the decision to reduce the effort of the inviter, and have the invitee provide their name upon acceptance.
What we didn't anticipate was the issues that may arise if those invited users didn't include or update their name.
Having considered various options, we have come to the conclusion that adding the name fields back into the invitation process, but making them optional, gives added control to those who want it, whilst speeding up the process for others.
We looked into your suggestion of allowing admins to control names, but because users can be part of multiple accounts, allowing admins to control the names of users on accounts they're not admins of is not something we can allow.
I hope you find this solution helpful. I'll update this request once the work is complete.

James Peacock: Will admins also be able to edit existing users that have been created during the time we could not edit users upon invitation? I'd like to be able to go back through the users to clean up the first initial + last name users. Will that be part of this feature fix/update?
James Peacock
Matt Karaffa: Hi Matt. Unfortunately that won't be possible due to the reasons I mentioned before. I'm afraid it'll be a case of asking your users to change their details themselves. If that's not possible, perhaps you could share a bit more detail about the problem you're presented with as it could determine whether this is something we focus on as a future update.
You mentioned that changing details was something you could do in the past - are you referring to the invite process? To my knowledge we haven't allowed admins edit the details of users in their account in previous versions, so keen to know more!
Thanks.

I agree!. It is a basic function! Why do you change things that worked before? When you have 50+ people who manage content you need an admin to control this!!!

Totally agree. Now I have users with just the first 2 initials of their first name and I have no idea who they are when assigning content.
