Bring back a way to see the hierarchy and all the pages at a glance

Previously (this applies to website build out projects), you could see the entire site map at a glance, whereas now you can’t. Sub-folders and pages are hidden and easy to miss.
I see there is an ability to “View Content Map,” but again, it’s not something you see immediately (and the hierarchy of pages is not correct – or clickable - once you get there).
If you guys could bring back an option that shows all the pages and hierarchy at a glance in one frame, I think it would be much easier to navigate.

Hierarchy is now live and available to all customers. Thanks to everyone who has given feedback on this so far. We'll still be making improvements to hierarchy moving forward, so please get in touch with the team if you have any further feedback. Thanks!

James Peacock: Thank you for your attention to our feedback and implementing a solution. Really appreciate it!

James Peacock: I still am not seeing this working. I can't indent sub pages under main page sections as a hierarchy. Can you please let me know how to do so?

It was a tragic oversight removing the sitemap view for managing content. This change significantly diminishes the value of the system for us. Please bring it back. The new folder view is applicable to some processes, but it should not have been a replacement for the previous site architecture view.

Show all pages in the content view

We have 100s of pages in our project. We used to be able to see all pages within a sub-section at a glance on the content view screen.
Now, we can only see the parent page and any child pages that don't have child pages themselves.
For example, there are 50 or so pages in our 'About us' section. However, if I choose 'About us' I can only see 4 pages. And even those pages display in a flat structure - we can't see the site's hierarchy.
Bring back the ability to see all pages - parent and child within a sub-section.

Thanks to everyone for your input on this feature. We are currently working on a project hierarchy view to allow you to see the structure of your project on a single screen.
It will also allow you to quickly create folders and items and organise your project efficiently by reordering folders and items on the fly.
We'll be reaching out to help us test this feature in the coming weeks.

James Peacock: Please make sure that we can navigate between items using the hierarchy of the pages as we used to be able to - not just provide a page where where you can see the the hierarchy. I can only find things using the search (which just got more complicated now that you have added the new filters) which means I need to remember our site map in my head!

I agree.
I used to be able to see ALL pages within a section and where they sit within the hierarchy, regardless of their level and whether they are a parent and/or child page. Now I can only see one top level page and any child pages of that top-level page that are parents without children. I can't see all the child page. It also shows as a flat structure - I can't see where they sit in the hierarchy. We have 100s of pages in our project and the inability to collapse folders on the left is making our work in GC near impossible. I can't believe this got version got through user testing.

We very much miss the drag-and-drop ability to organize content. Fine with folders, as long as the tree structure is also an option for both viewing/editing and for content exporting (our content exports in the order it was created now, which makes it impossible to send to a print designer. Instead we now have to export each piece of content individually).

Coming from a web development agency, I also find the new layout to be quite confusing. I would expect the top folder to be the same as 'All items'. It's quite aggravating that you can't view subfolders within parent folders. It makes it very difficult to visualize the site layout when you can't actually see all the items in relation to one another. The previous layout was much more intuitive and I forsee us missing pages due to them being easy to miss.

I'd set up the site structure and ran through the process with our writer and editor a month ago. I log in the other day to review where things are and discover this 'new' method of arranging content and am less than pleasantly surprised. No clear page hierarchy, no real idea of where in the site a piece of content resides - this looks a bit like what WordPress can spit out if you've never used Page Attribute > Order. I have several clients who now want me to source another tool, because using one for Content and another for the Sitemap just makes no sense. Switch it back, or at least allow for both the old hierarchy and folders to work together.

Agreed! While I like the idea of the left-sidebar that shows the tree structure, I would recommend making it similar to how most CMS' function - make the section expandable so you can drag it to see more of the deeper tiers, provide horizontal scrolling, and only provide folders if the user adds them. When moving existing accounts to the new system, please remove the folders and maintain the tree structure of the pages. The folders should be an additional option if we choose to use them.

We agree, too! Please change it back quickly... The new version has really stuffed up our work here...
