Customize or turn off email notifications
Kristina Halvorson
I would like to a) have choices about which notifications team members receive per project, and b) have the option to turn them off altogether for a project. There are SO MANY EMAILS right now that my team stops paying attention altogether. There’s no good way to trigger meaningful reminders or track conversations outside of the app.

Batch several pieces of work to a single notification email

On a large project, we would prefer to send approvers a single email at an agreed interval, eg once-daily, rather than 'spam' someone potentially quite senior with notification emails. It would also be useful for the subject line to tell the approver what we are asking them to do, eg 'Twelve screens awaiting your approval' so that they are not overlooked as just another auto email.

SO. MANY. EMAILS. They need to be able to be customised, it's ludicrous that this isn't already built into the application. I can't remember the last time I came across an app or service that was like "toooooooo bad I'll email you whenever I feel like it, mwah ha ha ha ha!"

Yup. I'm in the same boat, and am completely desensitized to GatherContent emails. I'm working on lots of projects for different clients, only one of whom uses GatherContent. Being unable to control the notifications means I'm about to switch to my "trash" email address for my GatherContent account.

+1 We have SMEs with access to the content at certain workflow stages, so they can make sure we've got our facts right. We shut down that access when writers are working so they don't get bombarded with comments as they revise. But the SMEs are getting notified every time a comment is resolved, which leads to them logging in, getting an error message, and emailing me to let me know GatherContent is broken. We'd love to turn those comments off during certain stages so we can present the revised content as a whole when it's ready.

Option to stop all email notifications

Have the option to uncheck ‘receive email notifications’ when creating or modifying a role, or have an ‘unsubscribe from all email notifications’ link in emails. People can become frustrated by the emails generated by GatherContent on top of the emails we (the project team) need to send. Let us choose to monitor our project and communicate to our team in our own way.

Yes! would love a summary notification incuding any @mentions. If these could be set for specific intervals... in
just one email
an editor can rest assured they'll have a summary of all @mentions from a previous day (24hr or variable time period) waiting in thier inbox 8amJaelithe Swan
Definitely! Being able to see and activate/deactivate prompts to users would be great.
Also think that the standard notification setting should be to group the emails, not receive individual ones.

Especially on the "what they say" point. Our internal brand is important to us. This is another touch point with the business and we want our users to get a consistent brand experience.
