The ability to include screenshots in guidelines fields would allow content editors to have a visual example of how the content will render on the front end. This would be extremely useful.

More often than not, the clients we work with are very visual. When building large websites especially, that involve multiple components, it's not always enough to simply add the component name to a tab when there may be many to remember and some might involve similar keywords that can become confusing. Instead of having them refer to other documentation for these answers, it would be a lot more efficient and a better experience for us and our clients to simply show which component we're talking about in a featured image view at the top of each template.

Our guideline fields are not currently associated with item content, just structure. This is something we're aiming to resolve in order to allow images to be placed inside guideline fields, in the same way you can now insert images inside text fields.

It would be great if 'Guidelines' field in the templates supported images — we often need to add design reference image for the client. It would be so much more convenient if the client didn't have to open a link to design in a new tab every time but could see a screenshot of a relevant component when populating the content item.

Agreed, I find myself having to link back to Figma files throughout my guidelines but it would be nice to have those images live in GatherContent to make it even more of a one-stop hub resource.

I need this so bad! I have small wireframe examples of every website component that I'd like to include with our templates to give the content author an idea of what the content will be like on the page and it would be fantastic to include that in the guidelines.
